As per Indian Mythological scriptures, Brahma is the first & Creator God among triumvirate, or trimurti Gods. Trimurti Gods are Brahma, Vishnu and Shankar. These three Gods are responsible for Creation, upkeep & Destruction. In English, GOD stands for Generation, Operation & Destruction. That is how Hindu religion & others are similar about God.
Brahma is also known as Grandfather and as a later equivalent of Prajapati, the primeval first god
