Details ( Page:- Homoeopathic Medicine )

Homoeopathy is a very well-known and widely used medicinesystem in today’s world. Homoeopathy is founded by Samuel Hahnemann in 1796 (Approx.200 Years). Homoeopathy is based on doctrine of “like cures like” (similiasimilibus curentur), means  that a substance that causes the symptoms of a disease in healthy people would cure similar symptoms in sick people.

Hahnemann believed the underlying causes of disease were phenomena that he termed miasms, and that homeopathic preparations addressed these. The preparations are manufactured using a process of homeopathic dilution, in which a chosen substance is repeatedly diluted in alcohol ordistilled water. Dilution typically continues well past the point where nomolecules of the original substance remain.

It is recognised by the World Health Organisation as thesecond largest therapeutic system in use in the world. While it is most popularin India and South America.

Before the medicines are decided upon, their curative powersare discovered by testing them out on healthy human subjects and carefullynoting emotional, mental and physical changes. This is termed a ‘proving’. Thisinformation constitutes the basis for ‘like cures like’, for a medicine’sunique symptom picture must match up with the individual’s unique expression oftheir disease, that is, the present and persisting symptoms of the disease.

In homeopathy two important principles are employed when prescribing medicines:  the minimum dose and the single dose. The use of the minimum dose is based upon theunderstanding that the Minimum & single dose stimulus of the medicine triggers the intrinsic healing response.

Following this principle, doctor give only enough medicine to initiate this healing response and also it has the advantage that it does not produce the gross side effects so often caused by conventional treatments.

The missionis to treat the whole person, not individual symptoms, so doctors try to find the one medicine that corresponds to the whole case. Homeopaths look at the bigger picture. They group all symptoms together and understood to represent the whole disease. When making an individual assessment homeopaths look at ancestral health, family issues, Family life, job, hobby, interest, choice,  influence,  holidays, relationships, response tochallenges, conception and gestation, birth and childhood, whilst at all timesnoting the ways in which the patient manifests uniqueness
